Week 9 Thing 23
It is hard to say what I liked best about this class. From the Life Long Learner points at the beginning to e-books at the end, there were so many great things. One thing I am most glad about this class is learning how to set up a blog. I still need to learn more about it, but...I like having some of my RSS feeds now too. I hadn't realized there were the different online word processors. too. That is something I may definitely start using. The online image generators are something I'm glad to learn about also. I want to make podcasts of my booktalks. I think I may really can use them for AIS library. I did wish at times that maybe the class should cover fewer things (maybe be divided into two) and take a little longer with each "week" so that we could actually have more time to create something with the image creators, learn how to actually make a podcast or something, but maybe that's for another class! I understand this class was really more for the "information of it',and that has been great! I am really glad I did it! I think we'd better sign me up for Web 2.1!
Week 9 Things 20, 21, 22
I had never really played around on You Tube before, but I really enjoyed seeing some of the old commercials from the 70's, and the toys from the 70's, etc. That brought back some memories! I loved Conan the Librarian! March of the Librarians was so all of us at TLA! The Librarian Manifesto really makes you think.
As far as podcasts, again, I haven't listened to them or downloaded them. I really didn't get how to operate in the Educator one, but it looks like it had some good information. I did find one I wanted to to download in Podcast Alley. I downloaded the Learn Spanish Coffeebreak into my Google Reader. I still hope to learn it someday! I still want to make podcasts of some booktalks.
I am so glad to get all the sites for e-books and audio books too. The World Fair has a lot of good ones, and LibriVox is good too. Most of the ones I saw actually find the book on the Project Gutenberg.
I have spent a long time today looking at these today. I am still marvelling at the amount of stuff out there and what all you could do with it.

Week 8 Thing 19
I cataloged 11 of my books in Library Thing tonight. It was fun to look back at some of my old favorites, and it makes me want to read them again (some of them I've already read several times-but hey!) I want to read Gone With the Wind, Christy, Jane Eyre, and more again-but I guess that's why they're still classics or at least still popular after all these years. Library Thing is a great way to keep up with what books you have if you have too many to count or keep up with!
Week 8 Thing 18
I tried the Zohos and the GoogleDocs. Again, some neat tools I learned about! The Zohos seemed to be very user friendly, but I'm kind of a Google person. I'm guessing GoogleDocs is still kind of new, and they'll tweak it and make it more user friendly before long. I may use try both again before I decide which I want to use for sure.
Week 7 Things 16 & 17
I enjoyed seeing what people do with wikis. I do want to set up a wiki or blogs and see if I can get students to participate in online "bookclubs" or whatever. Not quite sure how to get that started though. Any ideas out there?
I did post onto our Sandbox.

Week 6 Thing 15
Wow! all these things this week are overwhelming to me. There's just so much more out there, than I'll ever have time to look at and use, but it's great to know it's there if I need it. Creative Commons is a good thing. I liked the cute online comic book about copyright too. It is daunting for me to think about 'What is coming down the road?' with all this interactive internet going on now. The tools available to us are awesome though!
Week 6
I have looked at Del.icio.us and Technorati, plus Fickr. I think I understand what tagging is, but I just can't quite see how to do it. Somebody tell me how I'm missing it!
