From the Life Long Learner points at the beginning to e-books at the end, there were so many great things. One thing I am most glad about this class is learning how to set up a blog. I still need to learn more about it, but...I like having some of my RSS feeds now too. I hadn't realized there were the different online word processors. too. That is something I may definitely start using. The online image generators are something I'm glad to learn about also. I want to make podcasts of my booktalks. I think I may really can use them for AIS library. I did wish at times that maybe the class should cover fewer things (maybe be divided into two) and take a little longer with each "week" so that we could actually have more time to create something with the image creators, learn how to actually make a podcast or something, but maybe that's for another class! I understand this class was really more for the "information of it',and that has been great! I am really glad I did it! I think we'd better sign me up for Web 2.1!

Week 9 Things 20, 21, 22

I had never really played around on You Tube before, but I really enjoyed seeing some of the old commercials from the 70's, and the toys from the 70's, etc. That brought back some memories! Does anyone know of another site out there that's here in the states that let's you do that? Lulu also says it's free with no publication fees, but of course, nothing's for free, but I don't think it was that expensive. Any comments?
I was also looking at Library 2.0. It looks good too, but I need to explore it a little further to see if I want to "join up."

Week 5 Thing 10

I looked at some of the image generators today. I even found an interesting article in one of them about some books that were returned to a library in Peru after 100 years! Apparently Chili had taken them during the war in the 1800's. I'm really interested in the Trading Card Maker site. I'd like to make a trading card for myself or use Poster Maker to make some posters for the library. We could use sites like this to maybe have students do a trading card or a poster for a book they liked, etc. There are such neat things teachers can do with their students in the classroom too. I like the cluster maps too.

Week 1
Thing 1 and 2
I am excited about this class. I think it will take a lot of time, but even the time I've spent already was fun-setting up a blog. It is fun to learn new things. I hope to learn how to make podcasts, and do booktalks on them-or even some kind of slide show or videos. I would like to maybe set up online "bookclubs" on a wiki (if I can get students to do it), where we could all read and discuss books-not necessarily the same one at the same time). Personally, as I went through the life-long learning tutorial, I realize there are some things I do already, and more I want to do. I am working on a Spanish program (on CDs) that we bought for our daughter when she started taking Spanish in high school. I am learning some things, but I'm afraid I won't remember it very much if I'm not able to practice it. It's fun anyway!
